About Ainslie Roberts

Ainslie Roberts is renowned for his paintings interpreting Australian Aboriginal Dreamtime stories – the legends which have been used to hand down their history and culture from generation to generation.

Having painted since he was 7, he began to express his love for his adopted land by drawing it.  His fluent technical skills were honed to perfection during the ‘30s and ‘40s through a successful career in commercial art. 

Ainslie Roberts passed away in 1989, yet the “Dreamtime” series of books, in which many of his paintings have been reproduced, are amongst the world’s best-selling art books, having sold over one million copies.  His work is exhibited all over the world.
